The function

Your role is to coordinate, manage, and improve Health & Safety activities within an international manufacturing organization. You are responsible for various locations in Europe. You ensure that Health & Safety procedures are optimized and rolled out. You advise employees and management on Health & Safety matters.

Job responsibilities

• You advise, coach, and monitor employees and management in the area of Health & Safety.
• You ensure that you have a culture in which safety is a top priority. You ensure that employees are actively involved in this.
• You coach and advise international employees on safety matters;
• You visit the (international) branches on a regular basis;
• You are constantly present on the work floor and make proactive adjustments;
• You set goals, monitor them, and adjust them if necessary.
• You draw up guidelines for training and education and develop them further;
• You are an important sparring partner in the implementation and development of the Health & Safety program;
• You support and provide training to management in the area of the Health & Safety program;
• You are actively involved in various committees in the field of Health & Safety;
• You identify the risks and hazards and propose solutions;
• You focus on legislation and regulations and advise management on changes, improvements, and (work) procedures.
• You organize meetings to inform and guide your colleagues on Health & Safety activities;
• You maintain contact with external stakeholders (including with regard to audits);
• You manage internal and external audits and certifications and supervise/facilitate them.

Job requirements

• You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking (Integrated Safety Science or comparable);
• You have gained relevant work experience in a similar role/industry;
• At least 4 years of experience in a production environment is a major advantage;
• You have experience in risk analysis and drawing up H&S programs;
• You have a good command of spoken and written Dutch and English;
• You are experienced in training and coaching management and employees;
• You are a problem solver and focused on continuous improvement;
• You are familiar with the (international) health and safety guidelines and comply with them;
• You are willing to travel to visit European branches from time to time;
• Good communication skills and ability to switch gears quickly;
• You are preferably available full-time (32-40 hours);
• Results-oriented and stress-resistant;

• Strong organizational skills and able to quickly understand processes and procedures.
